ONTONAGON — The Ontonagon County Saint Nicholas Project met Wednesday to set in motion its next month of activities to help the elderly and those in need have a brighter Christmas. Committee members agreed that with the state of the economy in the county, there is a greater need to help struggling families and the elderly. ISHPEMING, Mich. - Dorothy Jean Marie Dean, 78, formerly of Wakefield, passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 16, 2014, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming, with her youngest and oldest child holding her hands. HURLEY, Wis. - Joan Recla, 77, of Ironwood, Mich., died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Sky View Nursing Center in Hurley. The former Joan Lynch was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Ironwood, daughter of the late William Lynch and Grace (Erspamer) Harding. She attended Sleight School and Luther L. Wright High School, and worked as a waitress at the Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Ironwood. She married Lawrence "Larry" Recla on Dec. 13, 1957, in Silver City, Minn.
