    IRONWOOD — In the season-opener for both teams, a third-quarter surge lifted Ironwood to a 37-31 victory over Wakefield-Marenisco in an Indianhead Conference battle at the John Krznarich Gym on Tuesday night.     IRONWOOD - The eighth annual Santa's Headquarters project has its gift distribution today from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ironwood Memorial Building. This year, the project will help 205 families in Gogebic County, providing gifts to 425 children. According to event organizers, the numbers are up from previous years.   • Glass-blowing studio, art gallery opens in Bessemer

    BESSEMER - Kikkebusch Glassworks, a glass-blowing studio and art gallery, opened in Bessemer Nov. 23 in the old Presbyterian Church. Holiday customer traffic was good all weekend, Doug Kikkebusch, owner and glassblower, said. "It was a banner day Friday, and we had a steady stream of people all weekend," Kikkebusch said.
