IRONWOOD — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder helped dedicate Depot Park in Ironwood, Monday as part of his plan to create a 600-mile biking-hiking trail from Belle Isle in Detroit to Ironwood. When I was growing up, I loved my mom’s stuffed eggs. Heck, as a chubby and happy-go-lucky kid, I loved anything filled with mayonnaise. IRONWOOD, Mich. — Toivo J. “Tob” Sipponen, 98, of Sunset Road, Ironwood Township, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood. He was born Jan. 12, 1915, in the town of Kimball, Wis., son of the late Jacob and Maria (Makela) Sipponen, and attended Meadville School in Kimball. WAUSAU, Wis. — David A. Juntti, 81, of South Geneva Road, Bessemer Township, Mich., died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice House in Wausau.
