WAKEFIELD — Students from kindergarten through high school attended Wakefield-Marenisco K-12 School on Monday and Tuesday after grades 9-12 had been on an extended break. IRONWOOD - The 12th Sisu Ski Fest will be a virtual event but organizers are excited about the prospect of the alternative event as they sent out registration packets on Monday. The 2021 Sisu registration period runs through Jan. 3, 2021. The event will run from Jan. 4 through Jan. 17. WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Vienna E. Forslund, 94, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Dec. 22, 2020. She had been a resident at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield since October of 2017. At the time of her death, her sister and roommate, Viola Manninen, was by her side. Vienna was born on March 6, 1926, to Julius and Aino Johnson in Ishpeming. IRONWOOD, Mich. - William "Bill" Suvanto, 80, a resident of Ironwood Township, entered into eternal life on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley, Wisconsin after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
