HARTFORD, Wis. — Melvin “Mel” M. Williamson, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019. He was born in Wakefield, Mich., on Dec. 18, 1933, to parents Matt and Linda (Hendrickson) Williamson. Mel graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, Mich., in 1951. He also attended Superior (Wis.) State College. He was united in marriage on July 14, 1956, to Barbara Laughner. Mel retired in 1989 from American Motors/Chrysler. MARQUETTE, Mich. - Joseph E. Brozzo, 65, of Ironwood, died on Sept. 9, 2019, at the D. J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. He was born on June 6, 1954, the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Heikkila) Brozzo. Joe served his country for four years in the U.S. Marine Corps in the early 1970s. Donald Pierre Jett, 52, was sentenced to at least 87 months in prison for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine Wednesday.
