He was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Bergland, Mich., son of the late Lawrence and Trula (Windgale) Petermore, and was raised by his stepfather, Manuel Jurmu, of Bergland. He worked as a sawyer with several logging companies in the area for many years until his retirement. BRUCE CROSSING - Many gathered for the 25th annual "Christmas at the Crossing" Children's Christmas Party held on Saturday. The Settler's Depot Gallery had a wide display of goods, including homemade mittens and hats, dishcloths, jewelry, baked goods, blankets, art, and more. James Eismueller, owner of the Walleye Lodge in Bergland, has been coming snowmobiling to the Upper Peninsula for almost 30 years. Two years ago he purchased the Walleye Lodge in Bergland and when he was unpacking his belongings he uncovered a snowmobile bandanna from the area that he had been carrying around with him for at least 20 years. BRUCE CROSSING - A new bull joined the herd of crossbreed Angus at the Talsma ranch in Bruce Crossing on a late September morning. "The beast caught my eye because of the long legs. None of the crossbreed Angus that we pasture in that field had legs that long.
