Although the old signs are still readable, MDOT says that while a sign may be very visible during the day, they lose their ability over time to reflect light back to drivers' eyes, making them less visible when the information they contain is most crucial. Elma was born to August and Hilda (Tuominen) Besonen in Trout Creek on June 11, 1920. Elma moved to Detroit in 1938 to work.     ONTONAGON — While the Michigan Department of Transportation is removing winter road restrictions from main downstate roads, Ontonagon County is a step closer to the time when its three major highways can be clear of winter ice.
