He was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Bergland, Mich., son of the late Lawrence and Trula (Windgale) Petermore, and was raised by his stepfather, Manuel Jurmu, of Bergland. He worked as a sawyer with several logging companies in the area for many years until his retirement.
