IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Bertha (nee Kooping) Erickson, 96, of Ironwood Township, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee. Bertha was born on July 23, 1927, in Ironwood Township, a daughter of Jacob and Sophie (Korpela) Kooping. She grew up in Ironwood Township. Bertha spent her entire life farming and was fully engaged with all activities and responsibilities required of maintaining a farm. Her husband, Everett, and she ran a dairy and potato farm... PENCE, Wis. - Richard James Miller, age 57, of Pence, died unexpectedly in his home Sunday, July 14, 2024. He was James and Therese (Blarek) Miller's first born. Rich was a small-town country boy raised in Hatley. His first job was at the Dittbrender Farm, where he worked long days, nights and weekends tending to the cows.
