    HURLEY - If there was ever a question whether an individual's vote mattered, Hurley's mayoral race Tuesday was a powerful argument in favor of the power of voting as Paul Mullard defeated incumbent Joe Pinardi by a single vote. Mullard received 185 votes to Pinardi's 184. Mullard had served as mayor and on the city council in the past. Pinardi had been mayor for 14 years.
