  • Hurley tavern owner sentenced

    HURLEY — A 63-year-old Hurley tavern owner who had been charged with four cocaine counts recently entered a no contest plea to an amended single misdemeanor of possessing the drug. Peter Zucco, of 603 Granite St., owner of the Alaska House tavern, was placed on probation for six months and was ordered to pay $418 in fines and court costs by Iron County Judge Patrick Madden. She attended Ironwood schools, graduating from Luther L. Wright High School with the Class of 1937. On Nov. 1, 1941, she was united in marriage with Otto Luoma in Las Vegas. The day featured a number of events, including 10-kilometer and 5K races and a noncompetitive 5K tour. There was also a kids race, broken up into heats of racers between the ages of 8 and 12, and a second heat of those between ages 3 and 7.     HURLEY — The Iron County Board of Supervisors Finance Committee this week approved about a $3,000 raise for Iron County Health Officer Zona Wick, bringing her salary closer to what several of the county’s other department heads make.
