    HURLEY — Deputy Treasurer Clara Maki was appointed as the new Iron County treasurer during an approximately 30 minute meeting of the Iron County Board of Supervisors Tuesday. Maki thanked the board for its support. “I’d like to thank you all for your support and your confidence in me. I appreciate it, thank you,” Maki said. She said she was appointing Debra Massoglia, of Saxon — formerly with the Iron County Credit Union — as her deputy. Massoglia started her job Thursday.     HURLEY — Owners of the recently purchased Hurley Inn are working to reopen the property as a motel this fall. Hurley Mayor Joe Pinardi said he has been in contact with one of the owners, Paul Bertelson, and the initial plan is to have 50 rooms open.
