Since both Hurley and Ironwood declared Saturday their citywide rummage sale days the same day, crowds of bargain hunters scoured the two towns in search of deals. He was born in Montreal on Aug. 13, 1927, son of the late Anton and Marjorie (James) Mezzano. He attended the Montreal grade school and J.E. Murphy High School, earning a G.E.D. diploma after his service in the Navy.
