She was born Dec. 3, 1966, in Woodruff, Wis., the daughter of the late Vanard and Judith (Holmes) Babic. Renee attended Mercer (Wis.) Schools. She worked as a housekeeper for Indianhead Ski Resort in Ironwood and Dairyman’s Resort in Boulder Junction, Wis. She enjoyed gardening, hiking and going for rides.
