Jan was born on July 3, 1955, in Ironwood, Michigan. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for eight years. In 1992, Jan married Dorrene O'Donnell in Hurley. (Morano) Peck. In 1974, Bill married Dawn L. Nyquist in Las Vegas. They moved to Montreal in 1999. He worked as a social worker in Iron County for many years.
