IRONWOOD, Mich. - Lee Baron, 88, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital, knowing his family loved him dearly. Lee was born on Dec. 15, 1933, in Montreal, Wisconsin, the son of Emil and Esther (Freberg) Baron. Lee graduated from Hurley High School in 1951. HURLEY - For the first time in three years, there will be a Paavo Nurmi Marathon this weekend. It was canceled, like pretty much everything else, in 2020 because of the pandemic and it didn't happen again in 2021.
