Along with its other fundraising efforts, such as pursuing grants and collecting cans from residents, NICER launched a crowdfunding campaign Sunday to help raise funds to start the garden. KIMBALL, Wis. - William "Bill" Kompsie, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, from complications of diabetes. Bill was born in Ironwood, Michigan, on May 25, 1944, to Eugene W. and Edna (Lehto) Kompsie. He moved from Hurley to Kimball when he was 5 years old and lived there most of his life. MONTREAL, Wis. - Evelyn Joyce Mezzano, 91, a lifelong resident of Montreal, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020. Evelyn was born on April 16, 1929, in Montreal, a daughter of John C. and Impi (Eilo) Johnson. She attended J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley and graduated in 1947 as covaledictorian. Collectively the three cities have sent out 1,329 absentee voting ballot requests for the Nov. 3 election and so far 1,128 of them have been returned. LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Jeanette L. Fredrickson, 91, passed away peacefully Oct. 1, 2020, at the Mapleton Care Center in Lakewood, with family at her side.
