Along with its other fundraising efforts, such as pursuing grants and collecting cans from residents, NICER launched a crowdfunding campaign Sunday to help raise funds to start the garden. Collectively the three cities have sent out 1,329 absentee voting ballot requests for the Nov. 3 election and so far 1,128 of them have been returned. The board approved a general fund amount of $2,774,576.
