GLISSON [email protected] BESSEMER - An extended thunderstorm late Thursday afternoon did nothing to dampen the spirits of persons viewing or participating in that evening's 4th of July parade on the main street of Bessemer. Some sprinkles fell off and on during the event, but few people noticed and nobody cared. At least a couple viewers wore garbage bags rather stylishly in a spontaneous effort to stay dry. Roland was born in Montreal to Anthony and Esther (Zanutto) Wyszynski on June 10, 1937. He graduated from Hurley High School in 1955. He was born in Montreal on Aug. 13, 1927, son of the late Anton and Marjorie (James) Mezzano. He attended the Montreal grade school and J.E. Murphy High School, earning a G.E.D. diploma after his service in the Navy.
