HURLEY, Wis. — William C. Morgando, 90, of Maple Woods Road, Hurley, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at home. He was born March 22, 1927, in Pence, Wis., son of the late Louis and Frieda (Magni) Morgando. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He had worked in the Montreal Mine and for many years he operated Morgan’s Campground on the Gile Flowage. On May 12, 1951, he was united in marriage with Patricia Ann Podhola in Mellen. IRONWOOD — The Ironwood City Commission on Monday may learn how much the city owes for the gasification plant cleanup of four years ago. KING, Wis. - LeRoy Herman Kapelka, 96, long-time resident of Montreal, Wis., passed away Oct. 25, 2017, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King with his family at his side. LeRoy was the first born of four children to Herman and Ruth (Fitzsimmons) Kapelka, in Sauk City, Wis. At the age of 7, Leroy's family moved to Baraboo, Wis., where he grew up.
