    HURLEY, Wis. — William C. Morgando, 90, of Maple Woods Road, Hurley, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at home. He was born March 22, 1927, in Pence, Wis., son of the late Louis and Frieda (Magni) Morgando. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He had worked in the Montreal Mine and for many years he operated Morgan’s Campground on the Gile Flowage. On May 12, 1951, he was united in marriage with Patricia Ann Podhola in Mellen.     IRONWOOD — The Ironwood City Commission on Monday may learn how much the city owes for the gasification plant cleanup of four years ago. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and city have been involved in what is called a “tolling agreement” with the EPA. The agreement will come before the commission on Monday.     IRONWOOD — The weather forecasters were accurate in predicting the 6.5 inches of snow that fell for Ironwood beginning Wednesday evening and carrying through Friday morning. The Gogebic-Iron Wastewater Treatment Plant weather station off U.S. 2 measured 4.5 inches for the 24-hour period to 7 a.m. Thursday and 2 more inches for the period to 7 a.m. Friday. The snow was recorded at the Gogebic-Iron Wastewater Treatment Plant on the Montreal River off Cloverland Drive for the 24-hour period ending at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
