IRONWOOD - Storm Seneca packed a wallop on the Gogebic Range that was still being felt Friday evening, as blowing and drifting snow continued to make driving hazardous. The Gogebic Range was hit with from a foot to 15 inches of snow on Thursday night into Friday evening, closing schools and businesses. BESSEMER - Faculty and staff in the Bessemer School District participated in a mock shooting drill Friday during an in-service day. The drill was held at A.D. WAUSAU, Wis. - Jane Ann Hanousek, 75, of Ringle, died Feb. 5, 2014, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Jane was born on Jan. 14, 1939, in Wakefield, Mich., to the late Ted and Agnes (Gustafson) Johnson. She married Frank L. Hanousek on July 10, 1965, at Church of the Transfiguration Episcopal in Ironwood, Mich. Frank preceded her in death on May 22, 1990. IRONWOOD — Blank shots were fired in the Luther L. Wright School on Friday as the Ironwood Area School District held a mock shooting drill during a teachers’ in-service day. BESSEMER - More than 30 residents attended a public hearing for the Bessemer City Council to reconsider a special use permit for a medical marijuana dispensary Monday. SILVER CITY - More details have been released concerning the dramatic Monday afternoon rescue of two snowmobilers in blizzard conditions near the Porcupine Mountains. CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police divers have pulled the body of a female University of Minnesota student from the icy Chicago River after an accident that left another student dead and a third injured. BESSEMER - An Ironwood man was found guilty of three felonies in Gogebic County Circuit Court Friday for operating a methamphetamine laboratory that burned along with a house in Ironwood on New Year's Eve 2012.
