PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A boy and a girl hanging out with a group of fellow students in a high school gym were shot and wounded Friday afternoon, and up to three boys may have been involved in the shooting, police said. One boy fled and was captured near his home, and one or two other boys were being sought, they said. CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police divers have pulled the body of a female University of Minnesota student from the icy Chicago River after an accident that left another student dead and a third injured. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the woman pulled from the river Wednesday as 21-year-old Lauren Li of Burnsville, Minn. (AP) - A 12-year-old New Mexico boy drew a shotgun from a band-instrument case and shot and wounded two classmates at his middle school Tuesday morning before a teacher talked him into dropping the weapon and he was taken into custody, officials and witnesses said. BESSEMER - An Ironwood man was found guilty of three felonies in Gogebic County Circuit Court Friday for operating a methamphetamine laboratory that burned along with a house in Ironwood on New Year's Eve 2012. HURLEY - The Thursday fire that destroyed Wishbones restaurant on Hurley's Silver Street is under investigation by the state fire marshal. BESSEMER, Mich. - Dennis James Jacobson, 71, of Bessemer, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. He was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Ironwood. Dennis graduated from A.D. MERCER, Wis. - Harry J. "Bud" Guild, 83, of West County J, Mercer died peacefully Sunday evening, Oct. 27, 2013, at home. HURLEY — A 73-year-old Hurley man appeared in Iron County Court Monday morning on two felony counts of theft in a business setting over $10,000. Thomas J. Cvengros, of LaBlonde Lane, was represented in court by A. Dennis Cossi. He entered not guilty pleas to the counts and waived his right to a speedy preliminary examination. IRONWOOD — Much of the Gogebic Range experienced a four-hour power outage on Thursday afternoon. The lights went out around 2:30 p.m. and residents along McLeod Avenue didn’t have electricity until 6:26 p.m., although services were restored earlier than that in other parts of the city. BERGLAND — Bergland Foods Store, formerly known as Nordine’s, was destroyed in a fire Friday morning.
