HURLEY - Northern Iron County's snowmobile season is over. The Iron County Forestry Department closed all snowmobile and ATV trails in the northern part of the county as of 8 a.m. Monday. Forest Administrator Eric Peterson said this announcement means Trails 77, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 north of 11, 13, 15 and 17 north of 310 road are closed and gates along the trails will be shut. IRONWOOD - The Pat O'Donnell Civic Center's roof sustained damage earlier this week. Scott Erickson, Ironwood's city manager, said excessive snow load on the civic center's roof caused a few of the building's steel trusses to buckle. ONTONAGON – The Ontonagon Township Board Tuesday approved its 2019-2020 budget which includes a major improvement to the Ontonagon Township Park. The $549,126 budget includes funds to tear down the late Doug Filppula home, adjacent to the park and restoring those grounds to their natural state.
