    WATERSMEET - A washed out culvert has caused the U.S. Forest Service to close Forest Road 3340 at the intersection of Old U.S. 2 and intersection FR 3346 in Watersmeet. According to a press release issued by the Ottawa National Forest, the road has been barricaded and visitors to the forest are reminded to adhere to any road closures for safety reasons.     IRONWOOD — The Gogebic Community College Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Thursday to hire a new baseball coach and change a couple position titles. According to a press release issued by the college, Steven Barnes was approved by the board as the new baseball coach starting immediately. Barnes holds a Bachelor of Science in physical education and has coached a variety of sports over multiple years.     HURLEY — An Illinois man wanted in his home state attempted to escape from Iron County Sheriff’s Department custody Saturday while being treated for a medical issue.
