WAKEFIELD - The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $3.9 million to remove and replace the M-28 bridge over Jackson Creek, east of Wakefield. The DOT said the existing bridge, built in 1932, has reached the end of its service life. IRONWOOD — An enthusiastic group of workers came out Saturday morning to work on cleanup and preparation of the Iron Belle Trail for the busy summer season. HURLEY - A carnival being held to raise money for the Hurley Fire Department had to be shut down Friday evening after a ride malfunctioned, injuring four people.
