WATERSMEET, Mich. — Martin Schutte, 83, a resident of Watersmeet since 1986 and formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Nov. 2, 2016, at his home. Martin was born on Nov. 7, 1932, in Ironwood, to Martin and Edith Schutte. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. HURLEY — The Hurley School District has received its 2015 report card and results will be reviewed at Monday’s school board meeting in the high school library. According to Kevin Genisot, pre-K through grade 5 principal, the district has scored a 79.5, which is better than the previous two scores.
