    HURLEY — Hurley students will dress up against drug abuse during national Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 24-28. Details of the week are published in the K-12 school’s October newsletter. On Monday, Oct. 24, the theme will be “Team Up Against Drugs” day, with students wearing their favorite team shirts.     By JAN TUCKER [email protected] Celebrate Babies 2016 is the theme in Gogebic and Ontonagon counties in an effort to help “to make lives better for the new generation,” according to Donna Wilber, of the Upper Peninsula Association for Infant Mental Health.     IRONWOOD — Mount Zion ski hill has expanded its opportunities this winter to those who need adaptive equipment to ski. The Gogebic Community College Board approved an $8,000 purchase of two adaptive sit-skis that will allow paraplegic and quadriplegic individuals to ski at Mount Zion. The college purchased two sit skis — one for an adult from 140 to 250 pounds, and the other for a child from 50 to 140 pounds.     BLACK RIVER HARBOR - A Hurley man was rescued from along the Black River late Thursday afternoon after he suffered an apparent broken leg.
