    WAKEFIELD - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources issued a use permit to Orvana Resources U.S. Corp., a subsidiary of Highland Copper, to conduct exploratory drilling. The drilling is on a one-mile-square piece of property situated along the westernmost edge of Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Gogebic County. The change will take effect April 1, after the township board awarded the contract to the authority’s low bid.     BESSEMER — The Michigan State University Extension office in Bessemer is hosting parenting classes every Monday from 4-5:30 p.m. Classes will be at the Extension office on North Moore Street.     IRONWOOD — The Ironwood Planning Commission Thursday approved a five-year Capital Improvement Plan for the city. The plan will go before the five-member city commission for final approval.
