    IRONWOOD - Dustin Anderson, program coordinator of Boys and Girls Club of the Northland, met with community organizers Monday at the Ironwood Memorial Building to make progress toward establishing a club in Gogebic County and Iron County, Wis.     Jared Munch, 23, of Duluth, Minn., recently became the first person to travel around Lake Superior on a stand-up paddle board; a 1,350 mile journey that included a stop at Little Girl’s Point in Ironwood Township.     HURLEY - The weekend of events surrounding the 47th annual Paavo Nurmi Marathon began Friday as registration for the marathon - today from Upson to Hurley - was held at the Hurley K-12 school.     IRONWOOD - A site plan and conditional use permit for Xcel Energy's move into Ironwood's industrial park were approved Thursday by the planning commission. Russ Kiviniemi, a professional engineer with Cedar Corporation, of Menomonie, Wis., outlined project plans for Xcel, with a half-dozen citizens attending the public hearing. As part of its Nature’s Superheroes series, traveling naturalist Licia Johnson from the North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters, brought with her many critters.     BESSEMER – The Bessemer City Council approved the contract for engineering and coating inspection services on the Aquastore water storage tank located on Tilden Road at Monday's meeting.
