Mourning her loss, the Bessemer native wanted to do something to raise awareness of suicide. Awhile back, Gallinagh said his friend, Anne Tyson, reached out to ask him a question. After 2.45 inches of rain fell for the 24-hour period to 7 a.m. Thursday, another 1.25 inches of precipitation was recorded for the period to Friday morning, including 7 inches of slushy snow. Vehicles may not be parked on city streets from 2 to 6 a.m. so snowplow crews can clear the streets for traffic, effective Nov. 1. IRONWOOD — The city of Ironwood’s fire rating has “significantly improved,” which will help to lower insurance rates. Ironwood Public Safety Department Director Andrew DiGiorgio said the Insurance Services Office has notified the department that the city has obtained a 4/4 rating for its structural fire suppression system. HURLEY — Residents of the city of Hurley recently received letters that their drinking water contains contaminants that violate state and federal regulations and may be cancer-causing if consumed over many years. WAKEFIELD - With a tear in her eye, Margot Anderson resigned as city manager of Wakefield Friday afternoon.
