    BESSEMER—The normally scheduled Monday night Bessemer City Council meeting was moved to Thursday night this week. Gogebic County Sheriff Pete Matonich spoke to the council about approving his proposed 3-year police contract that included Wakefield. Bessemer and Wakefield have been sharing services with the sheriff’s department since 2007.     BESSEMER - The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners tabled a request Wednesday by the 911 Committee to increase the monthly surcharge on phone lines. Emergency Services Director Jim Loeper presented the committee's request of increasing the monthly surcharge from $1 to $1.30. Loeper said the money is needed as the cost of equipment, salaries and insurance continue to increase.     HURLEY — Hurley K-12 School District administrator Chris Patritto confirmed Wednesday that the school board has taken no action pertaining to high school principal Jeff Gulan.     IRONWOOD - The colder temperatures that replaced last week's warm weather can be expected to remain for the next several days, according the National Weather Service office in Marquette, although temperatures are expected to slowly rise to a high of 52 degrees on Tuesday.
