HURLEY - As part of the 29th annual Memorial Day Weekend ATV Rally, Sunday featured the Mud Pit Races, which drew a large group of spectators on both sides of the pit. The races were held at the Trailhead on the Iron Horse Trail under sunny skies with temperatures in the high 70s. BESSEMER - Residents gathered at Hillcrest Cemetery on Monday to honor the nation's service members during a ceremony hosted by the Bessemer VFW Post 3673 and the American Legion Post 27. MERCER, Wis. - Neil Klemme, youth development agent with the Iron County University of Wisconsin-Extension office, needed some help. He had an idea to revamp some marketing tools used in the past, including stickers and brochures, but required some assistance. HURLEY - Hundreds of all-terrain vehicles will make their way to Iron County this weekend for the 29th annual Memorial Day Weekend ATV Rally. IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - Sixth graders are braving the wilderness this week in the annual Camp Superior experience at Little Girl's Point on Lake Superior. A total of 110 students from the Ironwood, All Saints Catholic Academy, Bessemer and Wakefield-Marensico school districts are making the annual trip to the Extension camp. IRONWOOD - Ironwood's coldest winter in 100 years continued into April, with temperatures for the month nearly 6 degrees below normal. IRONWOOD - Normal traffic patterns will remain on U.S. 2 for another week as delays push the starting reconstruction date back to May 27.
