    HURLEY - Faculty and staff at the Hurley K-12 School got into the holiday spirit Friday with a friendly competition using decorated doors. Doors in the elementary, middle and high school hallways have been decorated by teachers, staff and students to celebrate the Christmas season.     HURLEY - The Thursday fire that destroyed Wishbones restaurant on Hurley's Silver Street is under investigation by the state fire marshal. The Hurley Fire Department battled the fire for seven hours in frigid temperatures, with a strong wind from the west blowing thick, black smoke toward Ironwood. The structure was a total loss, according to the fire department.     MARENISCO — Camp Ojibway and HOPE Animal Shelter are moving full speed ahead with a plan for prisoners to train dogs. Warden Linda Tribley said the first dog, Anna, will arrive next week. Camp Ojibway, near Marenisco, will house three dogs which will be trained and socialized by six inmates to prepare them for “forever” homes.     MARENISCO - A long wait paid off for a Marenisco hunter in Michigan's elk hunt. Lucia Pairolero and her husband-guide, Frank, applied for Michigan permits to hunt elk for 20 years before Lucia drew one this year. The big day came for her last Saturday in the Gaylord area of the lower peninsula.     HURLEY - A spectacular 4:50 p.m. Thursday blaze destroyed a Hurley Silver Street supper club and resulted in heavy smoke that could be smelled as far away as the Kmart store off U.S. 2 in Ironwood.
