    WAKEFIELD — Gogebic Community Mental Health is hosting a training on Monday focusing on helping youth aged 12-18 facing mental health challenges or crises. Youth Mental Health First Aid introduces participants to the warning signs of mental health problems and risk factors for adolescents. It also builds understanding on the importance of early intervention and teaches people how to help a youth who is in crisis or facing a mental health or substance abuse challenges, according to a news release.     BESSEMER — A single engine airplane was forced to make an emergency landing on U.S. 2 near Blackjack Road in Bessemer Township at 4:45 a.m., Thursday, according to a Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department release.     HURLEY — The Iron County Finance Committee heard a presentation from a representative from Stifel, Nicolaus and Company Inc., of Brookfield, Wis., about refinancing courthouse construction bonds during a meeting at the Iron County Courthouse Thursday.     MERRIWEATHER – All floated, some flipped, but none sank at the 12th annual cardboard boat races held Sunday by the Hoop ‘n’ Holler Tavern in Merriweather.     Iron County’s unemployment rate improved by 2.5 percent in May, but the 11.5 percent figure was still the second worst in the state. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development announced the May job rates late last week. In April, Iron County’s jobless rate stood at 14 percent and it was 11 percent a year ago. The monthly release from the DWD did not state the reason for the improvement in the job picture throughout the state, but summer hiring and numerous construction projects likely brought in more jobs.
