WAKEFIELD - Wakefield-Marenisco continued to steadily move towards basketball respectability with a come-from-behind 44-37 win in a crossover Indianhead Conference game at the Cardinal Gym on Monday night. IRONWOOD — In what was thought to be the most exciting race and finish in SISU Ski Fest history, Doug DeBold, of Wayzata, Minn., raced to a razor-thin win over Santiago Ocariz, of Moorhead, Minn., in the 42k Marathon-Men's Classic even though both finished in the same time of 2:24:06. HURLEY — It's been almost 10 years since an Indianhead Conference team came to Hurley and beat the Midgettes. It took a Division I prospect both times. But Pro Vintage Director Kurt Krueger still termed the fourth annual event "very successful." ALLEN PARK (AP) - Jim Schwartz was hired to turn around the Detroit Lions and he did it for three seasons. He failed to keep the Lions going in the right direction the next two years - and it cost him his job.
