IRONWOOD — “Take a trip through hit after hit” with the Lowell Street Band, with two performances at the Historic Ironwood Theatre Friday and Saturday.
According to band member Ken Stasiak, the group is looking forward to the event.
All of the members are returning this year, including Ryckie Holm, Kevin Maki, Nick Wulff, Keith Cannon, Steve Boyd, Rob Ahnen, Ron Niemi, Dan Pitrone and Stasiak.
While the members are the same, they have been practicing different songs to introduce to audiences.
“We’ll be featuring The Buckinghams, Frankie Valle, some new Journey songs, Tom Jones and others,” Stasiak said. “We like to start off in the late 1950s, at the beginning of rock ‘n’ roll, and then continue all the way up to the early ‘90s. There is a variety of things, and we like to show the evolution of rock ‘n’ roll.”
The band’s gigs are popular.
Since 2005, Lowell Street Band has performed a two-night show at the theater, with half of the proceeds benefitting the facility in downtown Ironwood.
“All of us at the theater are so grateful to the band for sharing the proceeds with us,” said Bruce Greenhill, managing director for the theater. “Live music and the theater are important in the community, and we are thankful that they are willing to work with us to provide opportunities for residents to come out and see a quality performance.”
Both performances start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for students. All seats are reserved.
“Having the community support is one of the most rewarding parts,” Stasiak said. “The community support has just been wonderful, and we’re very thankful.”
