Darla G. Lazowski

IRONWOOD, Mich. — Darla G. Lazowski, 77, of Ironwood, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Ironwood. She was born Nov. 6, 1935, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Philip and Kate (Nicholls) Symons.

Darla attended Ironwood schools, graduating from Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1953.  On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage with Jerome Lazowski at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Ironwood.  She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ironwood. 

Darla is survived by her husband, Jerome, of Ironwood; one daughter, Pamela Spady, of Marquette; one granddaughter, Victoria Spady, of Marquette; one brother, Robert (Lois) Symons, of Bessemer; one sister, Betty (Howard) Pollari, of Libertyville, Ill .; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Darla was preceded in death by one son, Timothy J. Lazowski, on July 22, 2010; one brother, Philip; and three sisters, Doris Wertanen, Beverly Schirmacher and June Symons.

Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley, Wis.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Ketola-Burla Funeral Home in Ironwood.  Rev. Jean B. Rencontre will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Spring inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
