HURLEY — Students at the Hurley K-12 School shared hands-on environmental science concepts on last week.
Members of Diane O’Krongly’s eighth grade environmental science class passed on their knowledge to fourth grade students in Monica Kolpin’s and Rhonda Olkonen’s classes.
The eighth graders also worked with Neil Klemme, of the Iron County University of Wisconsin-Extension office, this year on several environmental units, including Project Wild about the deer population, Project Wet about the water cycle and Project Leaf about tree parts.
In addition to projects, students participated in outdoor games that focused on cooperation, patience and teamwork, and picked up trash around the school, along Rangeview Drive and County D.
