IRONWOOD, Mich. — Christine Marie Pribyl, 86, of Ironwood, was born into eternal life on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood.
The former Christine Stano was born into this world on Dec. 21, 1926, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Gregor and Veronica (Stano) Stano, attended A.L. Norrie Grade School and graduated from St. Ambrose High School in 1944. She moved to Milwaukee afterwards, where she made her home for the next 35 years and raised her sons. She met Frank Pribyl in 1978 and remarried and made her new home back in her birth town of Ironwood.
Chris was a longtime employee as a waitress at the Uptown Cafe in Ironwood, and prior to that as a waitress at the Holiday Inn in Hurley, Wis. She spent the next 35 years enjoying life with her many family members and friends and enjoying her co-workers and customers at the restaurants. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood and the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Greg Faludi, and his life partner, Tom Jakubiak; daughter-in-law, Lynn Faludi (the late David Faludi); granddaughter, Jenny Ward; sister, Agnes Armata; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Jean Burzinski; stepchildren, Jane (Phil) Josephson, Barry (Lucy) Pribyl, Dan (Nancy) Pribyl and Marsha Peterson; many nieces and nephews and grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special family member, Jodi Lake.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Faludi and Frank Pribyl; sons, David Faludi and infant son Joseph Faludi; sisters, Polly (Jack) Harris and Marge Burzinski; brothers, Tony (Gina) Stano, Greg (Betty) Stano, John Stano and infant Joseph Stano; a brother-in-law, Stanley Armata; and special family friend, Rosemarie Jakubiak.
Per Chris’ wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 15, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich, celebrant
Luncheon will follow in the parish hall.
Rite of Committal and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
