BESSEMER — All area Catholic youth in kindergarten through 12th grade are welcome to a summer program, Totus Tuus, set at St. Sebastian School in Bessemer from Sunday, June 16, through Friday, June 21.
A team of college age students from the Diocese of Marquette will lead attendees deeper in the faith through prayer, skits, talks, games and more, a news release said.
The team is spending eight weeks in parishes across the U.P. sharing the gospel message and promoting the Catholic faith.
“Totus Tuus, the motto of Blessed John Paul II, means ‘totally yours,’” said Angie Mazurek, director of religious education at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. “It signifies our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary.”
An elementary program for kindergarten through sixth grades will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch provided.
A teen program for seventh through 12th grades will be held Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. with snacks provided.
The cost is $20 per student or $30 per family. Registration forms can be filled out and money paid on the first day of the program.
