ONAMIA, Minn. — Adelia “Dee” Neigum, 97, died peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013, in Mille Lacs Nursing Home, Onamia.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial today, Tuesday, July 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wahkon, Minn.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Saxon, Wis.
Arrangements are by Shelley Funeral Chapel, Onamia.
Adelia “Dee” Neigum was born on June 14, 1916, in Saxon, to Joseph and Delma (Thebert) Dennis. Adelia graduated from Saxon High School and went on to earn a nursing degree from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Duluth. She worked in the field of nursing in various hospitals and nursing home settings throughout her career, retiring in 1981.
Adelia was an avid organic flower and vegetable gardener. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and was especially devoted to her church. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wahkon, and will be lovingly remembered as a “prayer warrior” for family, friends and fellow parishioners. She dearly loved the Lord, her family and her friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Kathleen Neigum, of Sturgeon Lake; two grandchildren, Brian (Mary) Neigum, of Finlayson, and Todd (Elizabeth) Neigum, of Rice; four great-grandchildren, Kaya, Ethan, Greta and Ingrid; one sister-in-law, Grace Dennis, of Waukesha, Wis .; special friends, Gary and Kathy Boser, of Wahkon, and Bud and Kathy Martinson, of Isle; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Adelia was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene; brothers, Willard, Dale and Darren; and her former husband, Martin Neigum.
