IRONWOOD, Mich. — Lillian E. Edmark, 86, of East Margaret Street, Ironwood, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, in Ironwood.
She was born June 17, 1927, in Wakefield, daughter of Mike and Maria Nurmikko. She was a gentle lady who loved everyone. Her door was always open. She was happiest when she could bake for her friends and family. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Lillian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Ironwood.
She was married to Edwin F. Edmark. He preceded her in death.
Lillian is survived by two sons, Edwin (Joanne) Edmark, of Hurley, Wis., and Clyde Edmark, of Ironwood; a daughter, Carol (Louis) Alden, of Marenisco; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and several foster children.
Besides her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Edmark; daughters, Rosemary Alden and Janice Edmark; and twin son and daughter, Paul and Paula. Many brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
A celebration of Lillian’s life will be held at a family gathering at 741 E. Margaret St. in Ironwood from 1 until 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The Rev. Todd Winkler will officiate at 1 p.m. All of her friends and family are invited.
Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
