HURLEY, Wis. — Helen M. Daul, 97, a lifelong Montreal resident, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley.
The former Helen Raffini was born March 13, 1916, in Montreal, daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Basin) Raffini, and attended Montreal schools through the ninth grade. She was an active member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montreal and its Altar Society, and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She also was formerly active in various civic activities.
She was married to Glenn Daul on June 20, 1936, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in July 1983.
Surviving are a son, Richard (Charlene), Gray Eagle, Calif., and daughter, Loretta (Dan) Johnson, Harshaw; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph Raffini.
Graveside services and Rite of Committal will be held Friday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hurley, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM officiating.
Interment will follow.
Luncheon will be served at Tacconelli’s in downtown Ironwood upon conclusion of the service.
