HURLEY, Wis. — Jennie M. Tarro, 92, formerly of Montreal, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Hurley.
She was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Brule, daughter of the late Iver and Linda (Ruuska) Hakkinen.
Jennie was married to Lewis J. Tarro on May 24, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2004.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean (James) Ninefeldt, of Lake Gogebic; grandchildren, Joel Accola, Lisa Kay (James) VanOuwerkerk and Paul (Tanya Jordan) Ninefeldt; and great-grandchildren, Jacylyn Zoe, Christopher Accola and Kassidy VanOuwerkerk.
Besides her parents and husband, Jennie was preceded in death by a son, James, in January 1964; a great-granddaughter, Amy; brothers, Hjalmer, Toivo and Reino Hakkinen; and sisters, Elmie Kyllonen, Ella Weber and Lulu Halvorson.
At Jennie’s request, cremation has taken place.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
