FATHER ANDREW Rogers, of Fenton, sits at the Barton Organ Thursday in preparation for the “Sounds of Silents” festival at the Historic Ironwood Theatre. The festival kicks off today, featuring Rogers accompanying the silent film “The Kiss,” starring Greta Garbo, and on Saturday with Buster Keaton’s “Steamboat Bill, Jr.” Both shows are at 7:30 p.m. Rogers creates the score for each film, and learned how to by watching Warner Brothers cartoons. He said it’s a “unique” experience to play an original organ along with a silent film.
