IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP --- Niagara scored 15 seconds into the game and went on to rout Ironwood 5-0 Saturday at Airport Park.
It was a 2-0 lead at halftime, but the Red Devils weren't able to cash in on their chances. These teams played earlier this season, with Ironwood falling 5-3, after a 3-3 halftime tie.
"I don't know why, I just had a feeling we weren't going to play good today," Ironwood coach Don Cvengros said."We played hard. Again, we had some chances. You can't take away from those guys. They're a good ball-control team."
The Devils continued to be very shorthanded with injuries and one discipline issue.
"It's tough," Cvengros said.
Ironwood hosts Phillips Tuesday and Phelps Thursday. Both are Northern Lights Conference games at 5 p.m.
"I think we just need to look past this one and regroup and hopefully get these these guys healthy," Cvengros said.
