Barbara Faye Hemming

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Barbara F. Hemming, 56, of 8368 Taylor-Colquitt Road, Spartanburg, died peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at 4:30 p.m.

Born in Wakefield, Mich., on April 15, 1957, she was the daughter of Dorothy Hemming and the late Ralph Hemming Sr. Barbara was born and raised in Michigan, attending Wakefield High School and later Gogebic Community College, earning her associate degree in accounting. She loved the U.P., especially on the Fourth of July.

Barbara is survived by her five brothers, Ronald, Ralph Jr., Russell, Randolph and Richard. She joins her father, Ralph A. Hemming, 1985, Robert (Hopper) Hemming, 2008, and sisters, Carol Marie, 1963, and Sheila Jean, 1958, in heaven.

She is the loving mother of her surviving children, Jennifer, Gary Jr., Rayetta and Raymond; grandmother to Alec, Isaiah, Chelsea, Dominic and Caden; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was caring and loved her family and friends very much. Barb never missed a chance to say “I love you.” She will be deeply missed by all who had the chance to know her.

A memorial service will be held for Barbara at home sometime over the week of the Fourth of July 2014, per her request. Further details will be forthcoming.
