Language in comics disturbing

To the Editor:

Once upon a time, one could read the funnies to children.

Looks like the comics are going the way of the radio and TV.

Twice in the last week the punch line in a strip has used the word “fart.”

I would feel terrible trying to navigate around this word while reading to children

Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?
