MERCER, Wis. — The Mercer Lioness Club inducted two new members during its monthly meeting Tuesday in Mercer.
Julie Begalle and Vikki Vollrath were inducted in a candlelight ceremony conducted by Lioness President June Brunell. The new members were presented with their Lioness pins and a corsage.
During the business portion of the meeting, the membership voted to donate decorations for one of the new downtown Mercer lights and to make a donation to the Historic Ironwood Theatre. Begalle volunteered to take on the chairmanship of the bingo kitchen with her sponsor, Louise Minisan, assisting as co-chairman during the summer.
Upcoming Lioness events include Loonacy Fest bingo, held in the Mercer School cafeteria Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., and the club’s annual Christmas bazaar, set for Saturday, Nov. 23, starting at 9 a.m. at the Mercer Community Center.
