Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
IRONWOOD -The Gogebic Range Health Foundation will hold its third annual community auction fundraiser Saturday at the Ironwood Memorial Building.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the event, "A Tisket, a Tasket, a Table and a Basket." It features a variety of handcrafted and artistic tables and baskets donated from local businesses, community organizations and Aspirus Grand View employees. More than 50 items will be sold during a live auction, hosted by Dan O'Sullivan, starting at 6 p.m.
The event will feature hors d'oeuvres, live music and a cash bar.
Many baskets feature a central theme such as "Family Fun Night" (includes a variety of family games), "What a Woman Wants" (includes a purse) or "Hunting Camp" (includes a variety of hunting accessories).
"The creativity of the donated items have been excellent," said Judy Nevala, co-chair of the event. "There is such a great variety and something for everyone."
The Gogebic Range Health Foundation is a nonprofit group that provides fundraising support to the Aspirus Grand View system.
Proceeds from the event will be donated towards the emergency room-pharmacy-laboratory renovation in progress at Aspirus Grand View Hospital. The $4 million project is projected to be completed in the fall of 2014.
"The support from the community and throughout Aspirus Grand View has been wonderful," Nevala said. "Everybody has been very eager to participate for such a good cause."
