SALOME, Ariz. - Patrick Kolinsky, 75, formerly of Ironwood, Mich., died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at home in Salome.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1938, in Ashland, Wis., the son of Ethel and N. J. Kolinsky. He graduated from high school in Watersmeet, Mich., in 1956 and served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1960.
Pat married Marlyn Burik on June 25, 1966, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage. Pat graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1968 with an education degree.
Pat worked from the age of 12 until he retired at 57 and traveled to see the natural beauty of the U.S., spending winters in Florida or Arizona and coming back to the Northwoods every summer. Pat loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to read and believed in the power of education. Pat was a wonderful storyteller. He also loved sports and died while engaged in one of his favorite activities, watching football.
Survivors include his wife, Marlyn Kolinsky, of Salome and Land O' Lakes, Wis .; his children, Nick Kolinsky, of Marquette, Mich., and Ann (Matt) Forbeck, of Beloit, Wis .; brother, Thomas (Jane) Kolinsky, of Ewen, Mich .; grandchildren, Jacob Kolinsky, of Marquette, and Martin, Patrick, Nicholas, Kenneth and Helen Forbeck, at home in Beloit; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; sisters who died at birth, Carol and Candice; and his brother, Robert Kolinsky.
